War mongrels Review.

New game review alert, and this time it’s for war mongrels. It’s time to dust my Xbox controller. This shit just got real.

We start the game with a rather pleasant tutorial and gives you the basics, how to move around, and how to switch your hero’s. After learning how to move yourself around and selecting items its time to start working your way around the map heading to the first trench.

After the short introduction, you get immersed into the game by taking down soldiers using ewald and his skills, from luring soldiers towards you by throwing a bottle in a random area and then taking them down with a swift kicking. It’s quite pleasing once you’ve figured out the controls.

So the story is that Manfred and Ewald are trying to break away from the front lines while everyone is at war, from my understanding is that our two heroes didn’t really want to join up to fight in the war and are currently escaping the enlistment by trying to break free from the German army they have joined.

During the game you come across various hero’s that help you in the game each of these heroes have different abilities that you can utilises throughout your campaign but remember you may need to pick a hero based on the scenario you encounter, throw a bottle, or use your rusty knife or even place a trap or two but be aware these choices are critical and will either kill you or you may just survive the day.

In the second chapter, I died so many times trying to do this part. You must be so cunning and not go rushing in and being all gung ho. You must use stealth and do it slow, because there are a lot of officers all over the place, you’ll need to harness your training in the tutorial by luring them to you then taking them down with a quick beating. Using the terrain is key as taking them down isn’t easy at times as you need to use that head of yours to help you progress and don’t be afraid of taking chances as not every officer is easy to take down.

Having played a few hours of War Mongrels I have to say there are lot of ways to take down your enemy you can either do a botched rushed half assed attempt or you can take your time, however you need to plan your attacks and plan them wisely.

What I really liked about the game is the collectables you can find thought the game and the map that gives you information about war stories, really thought this was a nice part they put into the game who says games are not informative.

I would of loved to put more time into this game and will pick this up again sometime soon as this game has so much more to offer.

So its that time again would we recommend this game. there is so much to do in this game and for the value of £28.79 and if your into your strategy games I’d highly recommend this as this has got hours of fun in it.
